Spicy vanilla chai latte

Spicy Vanilla Chai-Latte

Do you sometimes have this longing within you? When it's drizzling outside and the lights of the cars are reflected in the puddles on the cold concrete. If you've been shivering all day and your feet just don't want to get warm. When you've had a stupid conversation and nothing you do makes you happy. Then you go home to the cave. Possibly about the fluffy socks, but we don't want to assume anything about that. In any case: close the door, close the curtains, put the blanket over it.

Follow your longing for tender security and inwardness. You can find the recipe below: The Spicy Vanilla Chai Latte wonderfully combines the apparent opposites of hot cayenne pepper and mild, soft vanilla. Small warning for people who watch their diet: it contains sugar and calories. But sometimes it just doesn't work without it. A stomach warmer, a comforter, THE hot drink with which you can truly find your way home. Enjoy!

You need this:

  • 1 vanilla bean

  • 200 ml (vegetable) milk

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 bag of chai tea

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 300 ml water

  • Optional: whipped cream, cinnamon powder

It's that easy:

  1. Halve the vanilla pod and scrape out the market.

  2. Heat the water in a pot and turn down to low heat. Add tea, sugar and spices. Stir and let steep for 5 minutes.

  3. Remove the tea bag, add milk and vanilla pulp. Let it steep for 3 minutes.

  4. Stir well and, if necessary, pour through a sieve into the glass.

  5. Garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon if desired.
