We love mulled wine! The first steaming sips of the season are a real treat every year. But inevitably, somewhere between the third Sunday in Advent and the drinks in the office, the moment comes when enough is enough. Then we long for something sophisticated, something sparkling on the tongue, the clink of ice cubes in the cocktail glass...
Since Christmas and New Year's Eve are approaching directly after the mulled wine crisis (days when we definitely need something to toast!), we have thought of something for you and are presenting it: the mulled wine spritz. The solution for anyone who wants to give the Christmas classic a fresh twist.
Admittedly, the Glüh-Spritz and ice cubes may not be the first choice when it comes to warming up cold Advent market fingers. But after the first sips, it does live up to its name: the sparkling mixture of mulled wine, orange liqueur and sparkling wine provides the inner glow. And it's surprisingly delicious. Do not you think? Try it!
You need this:
-
Ice cubes
-
40 ml cold mulled wine of the best, fruity quality possible
-
15 ml mineral water
-
1 teaspoon orange liqueur
-
2 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed
-
100 ml sparkling wine
-
1 orange slice
It's that easy:
-
Place ice cubes in a large, bulbous wine glass. Pour in mulled wine, mineral water, orange juice and liqueur.
-
Add sparkling wine and decorate with an orange slice.
FLSK tip: Is there another high pressure area moving through the country shortly before Christmas? No sign of snow or cold? Perfect for the glow spritz! Fill it into an FLSK drinking bottle and chill out in the sun with your loved ones. In the FLSK your drink stays sparkling and cool. And the mulled wine aromas will still give you some festive spirit.
