Red Velvet Hot Chocolate | Recipe

FLSk Kaffeebecher aus Edelstahl mit red velvet heißer Schokolade zu Valentinstag.

Okay, it's true: Hot chocolate with marshmallows is pure sin. And definitely not for every day. But every now and then an opportunity comes along for which Red Velvet Hot Chocolate is perfect: You have your best friend over and it's getting really cozy. You finally come home after a cold, wet day and all the stress falls away from you. Or you simply find that you are a fantastic person.

All good reasons for a cocoa. Wait a minute, Red Velvet Hot Chocolate – does that sound like an ordinary cocoa? Oh no. The combination of the unusual red color and the creamy chocolate base with mini marshmallows on top spreads a pleasant, almost magical feeling. First in your stomach and then it rises and wraps you up like a fluffy blanket. Pure childhood happiness and definitely a moment of pleasure that you deserve.

This is what you need for one cup:

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • mini marshmallows

  • 1 cup whipped cream

It's that easy:

  1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm. Do not bring to a boil.

  2. Add cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, food coloring, coconut oil (or butter) and a pinch of salt. Stir well until everything is dissolved and the cocoa has a creamy consistency.

  3. Beat the cream stiffener until the cream reaches a firm, fluffy texture.

  4. Pour hot chocolate mixture into a cup and top with whipped cream.

  5. Garnish with mini marshmallows.

Good to know:

  • Replace the milk with cream to get a particularly creamy chocolate.

  • Make sure to stir the food coloring well so that the red color is evenly distributed.

  • In the FLSK coffee to go cup you can take your hot drink with you wherever you go - no leaks, no cooling down. Try it out!

Perfect for this.
